The experience

Sit back and enjoy the scenery

Your coach journey, accommodation and included touring are arranged so you can concentrate on the places along the way.

The experience

Along the way

Scotland, on a grander scale.

From Dunrobin's turrets to John O'Groats and the landscapes of Wester Ross, this is a holiday where the travelling is part of the pleasure — with four nights of dinner, bed and breakfast along the way.

Take in the view. We'll take care of the journey.

Enjoy the changing scenery from your reserved coach seat, step off for memorable stops and settle into a hotel each evening. Two nights at each base give this touring break a comfortable rhythm, without a different hotel every night.

Choose your departure. Know your hotels.

Every option includes five days, four hotel nights and dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel order and Dunrobin Castle visit depend on your departure date.

A Highland fairytale.

Dunrobin Castle brings a different kind of drama: elegant turrets, historic interiors and gardens overlooking the coast. Admission is included on every departure, either at the beginning or the end of your holiday.

The pull of the far north.

Visit Wick, John O'Groats and Thurso, taking time to enjoy the character of Scotland's northern coastal towns. At John O'Groats, the sea views and harbour make this famous stop feel like a destination in its own right.

Scenery worth slowing for.

A photo stop at Kylesku Bridge is one of the touring highlights. Your Wester Ross excursion also takes in Torridon, Shieldaig and Lochcarron — a day of mountains, waterside villages and changing Highland views.

10 April & 7 August 2027 — Thurso then Gairloch · Castle on day one

Pitlochry & Dunrobin Castle

Travel north with a break in Pitlochry, then enjoy your included visit to Dunrobin Castle. Continue to Thurso for your first two-night hotel stay.

Wick, John O'Groats & Thurso

After breakfast, explore the far north with visits to Wick, John O'Groats and Thurso. Allow approximately 45–60 minutes at each stop, with free time in Thurso before returning to your hotel.

The northern coast to Gairloch

A full day of scenic touring as you travel to your next hotel. Stops along the way include Bettyhill, Smoo Cave at Durness and a photo stop at Kylesku Bridge. Arrive in Gairloch for a two-night stay.

Torridon, Shieldaig & Lochcarron

Head out after breakfast for a scenic excursion, with a short stop in Torridon, a refreshment break in Shieldaig and approximately an hour in Lochcarron. Return to The Gairloch Hotel for dinner and your final night.

The journey home

Enjoy breakfast before boarding your coach for the return journey home.

Pitlochry, Inverness & Gairloch

Break the northbound journey with approximately 45 minutes in Pitlochry and an hour in Inverness before continuing to Gairloch for two nights.

From the west coast to Wick

Travel to your next hotel on a full day of Highland touring. Stops include Poolewe, Bettyhill, Smoo Cave at Durness and a photo stop at Kylesku Bridge, before your two-night stay in Wick.

Dunrobin Castle & home

After breakfast, travel to Dunrobin Castle for your included visit, allowing approximately two and a half hours. Continue home afterwards.

16 July & 4 October 2027 — Gairloch then Thurso · Castle on day five

From the west coast to Thurso

A full touring day takes you towards your next base. Stops include Poolewe, Bettyhill, Smoo Cave at Durness and a photo stop at Kylesku Bridge. Settle into the Station Hotel for two nights in Thurso.

Two bases. Four comfortable nights.

All three hotels are on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Every departure spends two nights at The Gairloch Hotel, plus two nights at either the Station Hotel in Thurso or the Norseman Hotel in Wick. Your departure determines the combination and order.

The Gairloch Hotel

Your west-coast base on every departure, with two nights to settle in between scenic touring days.

Station Hotel, Thurso

Two nights on the April, July, August and October departures. A Thurso base for your time in the far north.

Norseman Hotel, Wick

Your northern base for the 14 June departure, following your first two nights in Gairloch.

A little planning for the touring days.

Lunch on day three: food stops are limited during this full touring day. We strongly recommend arranging a packed lunch with your hotel, at an additional cost, to enjoy along the way.

Smoo Cave access: the steps down to the cave are steep. Please consider your mobility before attempting the descent and speak to us before booking if you need advice. Guided cave or boat tours are not included.

Bring comfortable footwear, layers and a waterproof jacket so you can enjoy your stops whatever the Highland weather brings.
