IMPORTANT: For European tours, it is required by law that we have the following information:

Full names, Dates of Birth, Passport Numbers, Passport Expiry Date

These must be with us at least 28 days before the tour departs (or at the time of booking if your departure date is within 28 days at the time of booking), or an admin fee of £10pp will be charged. You can input these in the 'Manage my Bookings' section of your account, by emailing us at hello@lochlomondtravel.com or by giving us a call on 0141 487 6737.

Please note regarding valid passports:

  • The passport must be valid for at least three months after the intended return date
  • The passport must not be more than 10 years old on the day of return

    Travel with us to Newcastle, enjoy dinner on both overnight DFDS sailings and spend approximately four hours discovering Amsterdam at your own pace.

    There is something special about arriving by sea. Leave the coast behind, settle into your cabin and wake up ready for a change of scene. With coach travel, both overnight crossings and dinner on both nights taken care of, you can focus on enjoying your mini adventure.

    Set sail.
    Switch off.

    Board in Newcastle and enjoy an overnight sailing to IJmuiden, your gateway to the Netherlands. Your cabin gives you a private place to relax before the coach takes you into Amsterdam.

    After your time in the city, return to the ship for a second night at sea. Watch the shoreline slip away and unwind as you sail back towards Newcastle.

    Your standard accommodation is a twin inside cabin with bunk beds. Single occupancy and cabin upgrades are available at a supplement, subject to availability.

    Your evening meal is included on both the outward and return sailings. Settle in for dinner aboard DFDS, then enjoy the rest of your evening at your own pace.

    Enjoy the atmosphere of the ship's bars, listen to live music or browse the onboard shops. A cinema offers another way to spend your evening before retiring to your cabin. Facilities and entertainment vary by sailing; some activities carry an additional charge.

    Elegant gabled houses, bicycles by the bridges and boats gliding along the canals: Amsterdam's charm is often found in the simple pleasure of wandering.

    Follow the waterways, explore the streets around Dam Square or seek out a cosy café. The Jordaan's independent shops and atmospheric lanes are another lovely option if you prefer a quieter corner of the city.

    You do not need to fit everything in. Choose the part of Amsterdam that appeals to you, leave time to enjoy it and return to your coach at the agreed meeting time.

    A different view of the city.

    If you fancy seeing Amsterdam from the water, an optional canal cruise can be a memorable way to admire its bridges and waterfront buildings. Check the duration and departure point against your available free time before booking.

    Time for a little treat.

    Pause for a coffee, browse a tempting bakery or pick up a sweet souvenir. Sometimes the best memory of a city break is a small discovery enjoyed beside the water.

    City suggestions are for your independent free time. Canal cruises, attractions and other personal purchases are not included. Allow time to return to the coach; the time available in Amsterdam is approximate.
