Man City v Brentford
May brings an important late-season Premier League contest to the Etihad as Manchester City welcome Brentford on Saturday 1 May 2027. City have regained control of this fixture in recent seasons, winning six of the last seven meetings between the clubs in all competitions and drawing the other. That run includes three consecutive victories during 2025/26, with City beating Brentford twice in the Premier League and also eliminating them from the League Cup without conceding a goal.
Brentford’s record against City still offers a reminder of why they cannot be underestimated. The Bees completed a Premier League double over them in 2022/23, including a dramatic 2-1 victory at the Etihad, and later recovered from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw in January 2025. City were far more convincing in the latest league meeting, producing 25 shots and six big chances on their way to a 3-0 home victory in May 2026. With the rematch arriving during the final weeks of the season, when every point could influence the title race and European places, Brentford will be looking to rediscover the resilience that made them such awkward opponents in earlier meetings.
The following day we head back to the ground, where you can Immerse yourself in the City story on the Manchester City Stadium Tour and visit areas of the Stadium not usually available to the public.
