Held each August, the Tattoo transforms the Castle Esplanade into the stage for one of Scotland’s most distinctive live spectacles.

A spectacle unlike anything else

Established in 1950, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo brings together the famous Massed Pipes and Drums, military bands and cultural performers from across the world.

Modern lighting, sound and projection transform Edinburgh Castle throughout the evening, combining centuries of tradition with the scale and atmosphere of a major live production.

Edinburgh Castle provides one of the most dramatic stages in Scotland.
